The map of the metro shows it is expected to cover 175 kilometers by 2025. There are two lines in the system that are in use currently:
The Purple Line is from Challaghatta in the southwest to Whitefield in the east, 43.49 kilometers, with 37 stations. It goes through MG Road, Vidhana Soudha, and Indiranagar. The Majestic station is a change-over between the Purple and Green Lines.
The Green Line is a 30.6-kilometer line that was built in the first phase. It connects Yeshwantpur and Peenya in the north to areas in the south. The Jayanagar and Kanakapura Road stations are along the line.
The connectivity of the metro in the city is set to improve as more lines come up. These lines include:
The Yellow Line is for 18.82 kilometers from RV Road in the south to Bommasandra in the southeast. It will be operational from the end of 2024.
The Pink Line is 21.25 kilometers long, from Kalena Agrahara in the south to Nagawara in the north. It will open for use by March 2025 end.
The Blue Line is the 58.19-kilometer ORR-Airport Metro Line of two phases. Phase 2A is from the Central Silk Board to Krishnarajapura. Phase 2B is from Krishnarajapura to the international airport.
The metro gives access to the grand enclave by the Prestige Group, Prestige Southern Star, on Begur Road, Southeast Bangalore. Other areas and work hubs can be reached from here. The stations at JP Nagar, Yelachenahalli, and Banashankari are close by.
The Prestige Southern Star site has been carefully selected. The builder has kept in mind the access to the metro. Having it nearby has made the project a more attractive space to live.
